This level of membership has a board seat on the Board of Directors. The board seat is a 2-year renewable term and is approved by the vote of the board.
- Representation on the Board of Directors
- Right to participate, chair and vote in all working groups and committees, including Executive, Finance, Marketing and Technical Committees
- Access and ability to contribute to the Z-Wave Source Code Project
- License to use Z-Wave installer logo (upon completion of Z-Wave certified training and installation of product)
- Listed as a member on Z-Wave Alliance website
- Receive member communications/Z-Wave newsletter
- Access to Alliance education tools
- Permitted use of Z-Wave logo for marketing purposes
- Access to member-only website/directory
- Participation Z-Wave Pavilions and Summits
- Inclusion in Alliance marketing and PR efforts
- Organizational voting rights
- License to use Z-Wave Certification marks in connection with the promotion and sale of certified compliant products
- Can Brand/Adopt certified products
- Access to final, approved specifications
This level of membership is for OEM/ODM companies manufacturing and/or certifying Z-Wave products.
- All of the benefits of Principal with the following changes:
- Representatives of two (2) Manufacturer Members may be appointed by the Board of Directors to the Board, serving one-year terms
This level of membership is for entities whose brand/logo will be placed on Z-Wave certified devices.
- Privileges of this level are the same as Manufacturer, with the following changes:
- No Board seats
- May nominate to chair Committee or Working Groups, subject to approval by the Board
This level of membership is for entities whose primary business is wholesale or distribution; or developing product based on Z-Wave technology not for commercialization as a Z-Wave solution or product that incorporates Z-Wave.
- All of the benefits of Brander, with the following changes:
- Cannot brand/adopt certified products
- Not licensed to use Z-Wave certification marks
- No voting rights
This level of membership is for companies whose primary business is installation with direct sales to the consumer.
- All of the benefits of Affiliate, with the following changes:
- Does not have access to final, approved specifications
This membership is for any member of the teaching staff of a college, university, or similar higher education institution whose primary interest in joining is technical education, participation, sales, and learning. This carries with it all the same benefits as Affiliate.
This level of membership is for any technical professional not employed by an entity eligible for other levels of membership whose primary interest in joining for business purposes and/or to use and contribute to the Source Code. This level of membership has the same privileges as Individual Academic.
