Avi Rosenthal, BlueConnect Partners

Avi Rosenthal has been in the connected device industry for over 20 years.  He is the currently the Managing Partner of blueConnect partners, a full-service consulting firm to the Consumer Products and Connected Device industries.  He has held numerous leadership roles within the IoT industry at Nortek, Legrand, Evolve and Superna among others. He currently serves on the board of the Z-Wave Alliance, and has served on many others, he has been a member of the CTA for more than 20 years. Through his deep connections with manufacturers, dealers, and retailers, he has the insights and resources needed to develop, market and manufacture products and services for the IoT Industry. He co-founded one of the largest Integration firms in the US.  He is the recipient of the prestigious CTA Mark of Excellence Leadership Award.

Gustaf Lonaeus, Alarm.com

As a Director of Product Management, Gustaf Lonaeus oversees development of Alarm.com’s products and solutions for energy management, home automation, and many of their cloud to cloud integrations. Gustaf has spent well over a decade at Alarm.com becoming an expert in product management, low power wireless networking, UI & UX development, and home automation hardware. Gustaf has a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts in Pysics and Mathematics from Colby College, and a Bachelor of Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering and Control Systems from Thayer Engineering School at Dartmouth.

Jonathan Adams, Ring

Jonathan (Jon) Adams is a Principal Engineer at Amazon where he focuses on low power wireless devices and connectivity for the Ring and Blink product lines. Prior to joining Amazon, Jon has spent 15 years developing and supporting IoT solutions for consumer brands in the Energy, Residential Security, Lighting, Electronic Locks, Hospitality, and Home Automation spaces. Jon holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from Drexel University, respectively.

Scott Laing, Vivint

Scott Laing is a Senior Director of Product at Vivint, where he leads a team responsible for sensors, display panels, and security hubs, alongside mobile and cloud infrastructure. His background is in wearable devices and software experiences that bring them to life. Previously, he led the product teams for MapMyRun and MyFitnessPal. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.

Paulus Schoutsen, Nabu Casa

Paulus Schoutsen is the founder of both Home Assistant and Nabu Casa, and is President of the Open Home Foundation.  He began creating Home Assistant in 2013, a free and open source smart home platform that now automates over a million homes. He later founded Nabu Casa, a commercial entity that drives the development of Home Assistant. As President of the Open Home Foundation, he fights for the fundamental principles of privacy, choice, and sustainability for smart homes. The foundation now owns and governs Home Assistant, but also supports projects that further the Open Home mission. This includes Z-Wave JS, the most capable set of open source apps and libraries for Z-Wave. Originally from the Netherlands, he now lives in a very smart home with this family in Brooklyn, New York.

Tai Nguyen, ADT

As the Director of Firmware Engineering at ADT, Tai Nguyen leads a team that oversees the development of next-generation home security systems and ensures that ADT’s firmware solutions meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Before joining ADT, Tai led teams and built mission-critical software for the Lockheed Martin Aegis BMD system. With over 20 years of experience, Tai’s leadership entails implementing and executing engineering best practices. He encourages innovation and fosters a culture of curiosity, learning, and professional development. Tai holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Matt Lovett, Assa Abloy

Matt Lovett serves as the Director of Engineering for Residential Electronics at ASSA ABLOY Group. Matt has spent the last 12 years driving the development of smart locks and supporting software. Before his current role, Matt led the development of Z-Wave products under the Kwikset, Weiser, and Baldwin brands. Previous to ASSA ABLOY, Matt developed highly integrated audio products for home and mobile applications. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering and Technology Management from Oklahoma State University.

Kevin Woodworth, Johnson Controls

Kevin Woodworth is Vice President of Global Product Management, Intrusion at Johnson Controls, overseeing strategic product development across six premier brands. He has two decades of executive experience in security products, having held leadership roles with Qolsys, which he helped grow from unknown startup to household name, as well as Pinnacle Security and Devcon Security. Working his way up from security product installer, Kevin has trained and mentored thousands of security professionals over his career.

Colin Cureton, Silicon Labs

Colin Cureton has over 25 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry and currently serves as Product Line Vice President for the Home Business at Silicon Labs where he is responsible for delivery of wireless solutions for the Home Automation and Home Security markets. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Director of ADAS and Autonomous Driving at NXP Semiconductors, as well as various leadership roles at AMD, where responsibilities included Product Management for the Enterprise and Embedded Solutions Divisions. Prior to AMD, Colin held managerial positions at Freescale Semiconductor and Motorola SPS, focusing on operations management, product marketing, and systems engineering. Colin holds a BEng (Hons) in Information Systems Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.

John is a technology leader with experience spanning Senior Leadership, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales. Throughout his career, he has operated at the intersection of deep technical innovation and business execution, building and scaling products that redefine markets and deliver durable value. Across roles, John has been responsible for setting product vision, leading cross-functional global teams, and driving complex initiatives from concept through launch and scale. He is known for combining strategic clarity with hands-on leadership, aligning engineering rigor with customer needs, and turning ambitious ideas into reliable, market-ready platforms.

Ben Garcia, Trident IoT

Ben Garcia is an accomplished technology executive with more than two decades of leadership experience in the semiconductor, connected-device, and Internet of Things (IoT) industries. His career has focused on guiding complex technologies from early innovation through global commercialization, with an emphasis on scalable platforms, ecosystem development, and long-term product strategy. Throughout his professional career, Ben has held senior roles across engineering, product management, technical services, and business-facing functions, bridging deep technical expertise with executive-level decision-making. He has led and advised cross-functional teams spanning hardware, software, manufacturing, and customer enablement, working closely with partners and customers worldwide.
