The Summit will include a keynote from Futuresource with new consumer survey data and special guests from Ovum and the BBC

Amsterdam, NL – April 25, 2018– The Z-Wave Alliance, a global membership organization dedicated to advancing the popular Z-Wave wireless smart home protocol, will host their Spring Summit on May 3-4, 2018 in Amsterdamand convene members and partners for a series of discussions, panels and workshops on IoT and smart home.

The two-day event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Amsterdam, will open with a Q&A fireside chat with Tyson Tuttle, CEO of Silicon Labs. Following that, the Summit will include an opening keynote from Jack Wetherill at Futuresource which will feature results from the group’s 2018 Smart home and Appliances Consumer Survey. The survey delves into the journeys that consumers make into buying, installing and using smart home devices. The presentation will include a market overview and discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by the industry in 2018 and beyond. Attendees will then join the Sales & Marketing Track to learn more about the market, retail strategies, social media and member opportunities or the Developer’s Forum Technical Track to learn about the Z-Wave roadmap and the context-aware smart home, IoT device testing best practices and building a Z-Wave device.

The Sales & Marketing will also feature several panels including one on emerging trends in the smart home led by BBC tech correspondent Kate Russell and another that dives into consumers and the challenges retailers face in positioning smart home products. The event will also feature sessions on social media and understanding consumer data for marketing, Smart Start and Security S2, the latest features of the Z-Wave standard, market certification support and an “Ask the Media” Q&A with Kate Russell from BBC.

“We’ve built a robust and exciting event for the growing Z-Wave ecosystem; members and partners can expect lively discussions around the state of the market today, predictions for the future, pitfalls to watch out for and how we can keep pushing forward to fully realize the promise of connected living. If you’re a Z-Wave Alliance member, it’s a must-attend event,” commented Mitchell Klein, Z-Wave Alliance Executive Director.

Z-Wave continues to be one of the dominant technologies in the smart home and has started to see growth in peripheral markets including hospitality, insurance and energy. To date there are 100 million Z-Wave devices in the market and the Z-Wave Alliance has over 700 members globally. The Z-Wave Summit is held twice a year – in Spring in Europe and in the Fall in the United States – to bring the global ecosystem together to discuss the future of Z-Wave and the industries that matter to members.
