Moderated by Tim Albright of AV Nation\, this session brings together key players from Alarm.com\, Yale\, ADT\, and Silicon Labs\, who will share their journey from identifying a market-driven need to developing and certifying a new standard. Attendees will gain a behind-the-scenes look into how competing industry leaders collaborated effectively to enhance the Z-Wave ecosystem. The discussion will address the process of proposing and creating a new command class\, navigating intellectual property considerations\, and ensuring smooth certification. Panelists will also reflect on how this collaborative effort translated into a successful product launch and discuss how companies without immediate use cases can still significantly benefit from participating in technical working groups. This session is essential for those interested in influencing future Z-Wave developments and leveraging collaborative innovation for broader market success.
