You are here: Home / Billboard / Aeotec are first to successfully certify 700 series Z-Wave products.

Aeotec are first to successfully certify 700 series Z-Wave products.

Another milestone for Aeotec.

We were the first to bring Gen5 devices to market, and we’ve released the largest and most-trusted range of quality 500 series Z-Wave devices available anywhere. And now we’re doing it all again with the start of September seeing 2 new devices from Aeotec pass Z-Wave certification.

What makes these 2 devices so special? They’re the first devices from any maker to be successfully engineered and certified using the all new 700 series Z-Wave platform. And they’re the first devices in Aeotec’s forthcoming Gen7 range.

Range Extender 7 and Recessed Door Sensor 7, upgrade paths to our Z-Wave repeater and in-door automation sensor respectively, will be the first Gen7 devices that Aeotec makes available to partners. Their certifications under what some have dubbed Z-Wave Plus Version 2was confirmed by the Z-Wave Alliance earlier this week. Both utilise 700 series Z-Wave, and will offer 3 separate layers of wireless security, a 33% improvement on wireless range, and as much as 500% better battery life.

Describing the milestone, Aeotec CEO Daniel P Dykes stated that “Aeotec has been maximising the capabilities of Z-Wave for more than a decade. I’m chuffed that our engineering and design teams have been able to successfully execute on the first devices that will help Aeotec realise its vision of what the future of home and building automation looks like.”

Both new devices will be available to partners in the immediacy, with a broader release of both in the near future. Team Aeotec will be taking partners through our full range of devices, including these first Gen7 devices, at this month’s CEDIA expo in Denver and this month’s IFA expo in Berlin.
